Tell us what you are doing for NSMW25, like City Catering Southampton have

NSMW continues to be a success because of the support we get from everyone. Let us know your plans so we can celebrate and share with you. You can make NSMW your own. Karen Clark from City Catering Southampton has shared her plans, they are very impressive, we look forward to receiving photos to feature in our gallery.

Monday – Cooking Together

We’re excited to launch our Cooking at Home programme for Christmas!
Our charitable initiative supports vulnerable families in our member schools by helping to bridge the holiday hunger gap. It also celebrates the health benefits of cooking from scratch as a family—bringing people together over wholesome, home-cooked meals.

Tuesday – Nutrition

Today we proudly introduce Good Start in Life – A Foodwise Future, our new educational programme for member schools.
Developed collaboratively, this initiative focuses on real food, hands-on experiences, and lasting change. It’s not just for children—we’re engaging parents, carers, and school leadership teams because their influence is key to shaping healthy habits.
Our dedicated Food Education Ambassador will deliver tailored, in-person sessions to meet each school’s unique needs. This month, we’re taking our charity ethos further: every child deserves access to nutritious, healthy food.

Wednesday – Community

We’re shining a spotlight on the quality of our menus and ingredients, backed by Soil Association accreditation.
Our teams actively participate in community allotments and vegetable patches, and pupils love learning about Farm to Fork and Field to Fork. Together, we’re building stronger connections between schools, food, and local communities.

Thursday – Environmental

As part of National School Meals Week (NSMW) and beyond, we’re hosting events in four schools to celebrate our ProVeg International School Plates Silver accreditation.
We’re introducing pupils, teachers, and staff to our new Plantastic dishes, created by our Food Development Team. These plant-based tasters will be served during lunch, and feedback will help shape future menus.
Our Head of Kitchen meetings will also explore how these small changes can make a big impact on pupil health and the planet. Sustainability starts with collaboration—and every voice matters.

Friday – Social

We’re thrilled to visit Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Primary School in Lymington!
We’ll join their parent and carer assembly to discuss the benefits of school meals—from nutrition to mental health—and why eating together matters.
Afterward, we’ll meet the school council and share lunch to hear what pupils really think about their meals. Their feedback helps us keep improving!
