North Yorkshire Council kicked off LACA NSMW 23 with a ‘food mile’ assembly
NYES Catering from North Yorkshire Council kicked off LACA NSMW 23 with a ‘food mile’ assembly, the pupils at Hawkser Primary School flew NYES Airlines to find the food miles in flight HAW1234 MC and HAW4321 SB. They tried to guess both the ingredients and food miles contained for both Spaghetti Bolognese and Macaroni Cheese. The captain of the flight (Tracey Usher) talked around the healthy eating plate, farm to fork, using local suppliers and why we were celebrating school meals during the 30thcelebration NSMW, with the importance of a nutritious hot meal. Both pupils and teachers enjoyed the flight and looked forward to where NYES Airlines could take them next.
This afternoon another flight is scheduled to take off from Fylingdales Primary School.
